As an undergraduate, I studied Latin, Greek, and English at the University of Toronto. I then completed a Masters and Ph.D. in Classics at Boston University. My doctoral research was on the Classical tradition and its influence upon early American Literature. I continued with postdoctoral studies at Harvard University. I have taught at the University of Toronto, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts, Boston. I currently teach in the Classics department at Saint Anselm College. I have experience tutoring Latin (including AP Latin) and the SAT.

I have published articles on Ovid’s Metamorphoses and on the classical tradition and its influence on American literature. In addition, I have introduced countless students to the Latin language, Latin literature, and the cultures of Ancient Greece and Rome over many years of teaching. I’m very involved in my college’s Classics Society and I volunteer on the board of my local chapter of Scholarship America.
